My 2016 Movie Ranking – Unpopped Review

10 Cloverfield Lane

Here is the complete ranking of all the movies I’ve seen that were released in theaters in 2016.

Generally I ranked my movies with 3 critieria:

  1. Overall quality. How were the actors, characters, story, visuals, etc.
  2. How did the movie make me feel? Was the movie successful in making me feel what it wanted. When I left was I happy, sad, encouraged, grumpy, glad I saw it, disappointed I saw it, things like that.
  3. Rewatchability. How likely am I to see the movie again? If I’d gladly watch it again it gets bumped up my list, but if I’d rather avoid it then it’s definitely lower.

Now there’s no way for me to see every movie released in 2016. So as I continue to see more movies released this year I will come in and adjust my list accordingly.

Also let me know what you think of my list? What movies would you recommend I see? And what do you think I got wrong in my ranking. Let me know in the comments below and remember to always keep it unpopped!

Sometimes a film, no matter how much love is involved, fails to meet expectations. That’s where I jump in and break down “The Good,” “The Ehh” and “The Ugh-ly.” My purpose is to try to determine how the film succeeded and how it could have been better. I believe that this process can elevate the film industry and make the film going experience better for all.
