Help The Assassin’s Apprentice – a Futuristic Action Thriller

The Assassin's Apprentice Kickstarter

Our good friend Russ Emanuel whose most recent project we covered, award-winning feature film Occupants, is back with another exciting and adventurous project – The Assassin’s Apprentice. Russ is always pushing boundaries when it comes to interacting with his audience and recently conducted an excellent Q&A on Kickstarter where he openly talked to fans about the upcoming film as well as aspects of filmmaking and shooting.

The Assassin’s Apprentice is a story about a young apprentice assassin (Tarah Paige – True Blood, CSI: NY, Transformers, Star Trek: Renegades) whose first solo mission is to neutralize a notorious, and previously untouchable, drug kingpin. Because of her unparalleled athletic skills and insatiable thirst for adventure and excitement, she attempts to execute her hit in a different manner than her trainer (Robert Picardo – Star Trek: Voyager, Total Recall, Stargate: Atlantis, Supernatural) and handler (Marina Sirtis – Star Trek: Next Generation, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Generations) would like.

The Assassin’s Apprentice is a short film that will serve as the first step in a bigger plan to establish the Assassins franchise, which will include a trilogy of feature films, an Assassins mobile game, and exclusive membership into the world of secret assassins.

The production team is made up of Hollywood professionals with combined decades of experience, directing and producing such productions as the award winning Occupants, Tiger, P.J., as well as the sci-fi/thriller 5th Passenger, and horror features When the Fever Breaks and Lure. These people include Howard Nash, Russ Emanuel, Ryan Husk, and Eric Brown.

The team have come together to create this new, exciting action/thriller franchise, and to expand it into a multitude of forward-thinking media making it a fun and interactive experience.

The team are looking for funding to help with production costs of the short. They have already secured the funding to bring on Marina Sirtis (Star Trek: Next Generation, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Generations) and are now looking to get enough for an additional shooting day and get more work completed for the short.

There are lots of amazing perks available including becoming an extra on the set, Production Executive and Associate Producer. For more information we highly recommend you check out their Kickstarter page HERE.
