Jet Li Leaves xXx3
xXx3 or xXx: The Return of Xander Cage has been quiet lately, slipping under the radar of most people paying more attention to Fast & Furious 8. However, after less than a month being attached to the movie Jet Li has now left the production. Fans of the series need not worry though as he is being replaced by Donnie Yen.
Donnie Yen is a major star in Hong Kong but is probably best known internationally for the Ip Man movies and playing Long Sky in the Academy Award nominated Hero. Yen plays the alpha-warrior Xiang who leads a group of mercenaries looking to obtain a weapon called Pandora’s Box. Out to stop them is a team of thrill seeking secret agents led by Cage.
Fans of the series will be wondering what became of Xander Cage following his assassination at the beginning of xXx2. Cage seems to have been brought back from the dead although how this has happened is still a mystery at this stage.
Samuel L. Jackson is set to return and Ice Cube is in talks to reprise his role. Also joining the cast are UFC’s Conor McGregor, Tony Jaa, Deepika Padukone and Ruby Rose.
Nothing official has been released in regards to the departure of Jet Li but Donnie Yen is a fantastic replacement.
